What You’ll Be Doing

  • Creating and improving marine EO data products by combining satellite and in-situ data.
  • Processing EO data using Python or R and EO/GIS software like SNAP, ENVI, QGIS, or ArcGIS.
  • Developing algorithms and applying machine learning to make our products smarter.
  • Working closely with clients to understand their needs and deliver on time.
  • Writing clear reports and helping prepare proposals for exciting new projects.
  • Keeping up with the latest tech and representing TechWorks at workshops and conferences.

What We’re Looking For

  • Master’s degree in Remote Sensing, Earth Observation, GIS, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years’ experience working with EO data (academic or industry).
  • Solid Python and/or R skills for satellite image processing.
  • Experience with EO/GIS tools (SNAP, ENVI, QGIS, ArcGIS).
  • Familiarity with machine learning and EO algorithm development.
  • Comfortable with Linux and using scientific libraries like Pandas, GeoPandas, NumPy, GDAL.
  • Strong communication skills – you explain complex ideas clearly and work well with a team.
  • Able to juggle multiple projects and meet deadlines without breaking a sweat.

Metocean Technician

Join Our Team as a Metocean Technician!

Are you passionate about the marine environment and eager to work with advanced technology? TechWorks Marine is a leader in metocean solutions, supporting key projects in renewable energy, oil & gas, and marine infrastructure. We’re looking for a practical, detail-oriented individual to join our growing team.

As a Metocean Technician, you will play a vital role in our operations. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Equipment Preparation: Assembling, configuring, and testing metocean instruments and sensors before deployment.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Conducting regular maintenance, including organising and performing calibrations, and servicing all metocean equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Deploying and Recovering Equipment: Installing, recovering, and servicing oceanographic and meteorological equipment (e.g., ADCPs, wave buoys, weather stations).
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnosing and repairing equipment issues both onshore and offshore.
  • Data Management: Collecting, processing, and performing quality control on metocean data.
  • Reporting: Preparing clear technical reports and data summaries.
  • Fieldwork: Participating in offshore campaigns and other field activities.
  • Safety First: Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience: Previous experience with metocean equipment and data acquisition systems is essential.
  • Education: A degree or diploma in Oceanography, Marine Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Technical Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities and comfort with IT tools for data handling.
  • Adaptability: Willingness to work offshore, travel, and adapt to varying schedules.
  • Team Player: Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Certification: Valid offshore survival and medical certificates (or willingness to obtain).

Project Manager

Project Manager – Lead Excellence at TechWorks Marine

TechWorks Marine, a trusted leader in Metocean Data for over 20 years, is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Project Manager to join our expanding team in Dublin, near Dun Laoghaire Harbour.

About TechWorks Marine

We deliver critical metocean data to clients across Ireland and Europe, supporting projects throughout their lifecycle with our advanced data buoy platforms. Join us and contribute to innovative solutions that drive sustainable marine development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the planning, coordination, and successful delivery of operational and fieldwork projects on schedule.
  • Oversee multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring all deadlines and quality standards are met.
  • Foster strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and internal teams to proactively manage project risks and changes.
  • Coordinate timely procurement and delivery of equipment to support project execution.
  • Ensure projects are delivered to specification, on time, and within budget.

Candidate Profile

  • Certified Project Manager (PMP, Prince2, or equivalent).
  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ project management experience, preferably in engineering or scientific sectors.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Science or Engineering is advantageous.
  • Exceptional organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects efficiently and meet tight deadlines.
