Senior Embedded Developer

TechWorks Marine has an immediate opening for a Senior Embedded Developer to join our team as we expand into existing and new sectors in Europe.

We are looking for a dynamic person with at least 5 years professional experience in Embedded Linux Development.  The ideal candidate should be a pro-active, self-motivated individual, a team player/leader, capable of working independently.  The ideal candidate should be looking to progress their career developing embedded systems for use in the Marine Environment.

 

We are looking for a dynamic person who will have:

  • A Degree or Masters in Computing or Engineering (Electronics)
  • A minimum of 5 years’ industry experience in Embedded Development and/or Electronic Engineering
  • Project Management experience not essential but highly desirable. 
  • Able to manage a team of developers.
  • High level of professionalism and good communications skills.
  • Pro-active and flexible due to the nature of marine surveys
  • Experience with all stages of embedded development, from hardware and software perspectives.
  • Fluent in English

Your main duties will be:

  • Work closely with the Survey team to prepare and test embedded devices prior to deployment in challenging environments
  • Lead the development of software drivers for new sensor integration into our embedded systems
  • Working with embedded communications, such as MQTT
  • Have a thorough understanding of different communications systems.
  • Prepare documentation to go with software code for DevOps applications

Your skills/experience will include:

  • Commercial experience at working in Linux Environments
  • Commercial experience in Python and Micropython
  • Experience with low-level languages, such as C
  • Being able to work to tight deadlines in a calm atmosphere
  • Knowledge of operating oceanographic equipment a bonus

Senior Metocean Engineer

TechWorks Marine has an immediate opening for a Senior Metocean engineer to join our team as we grow in the Marine Renewable sector in Europe.

We are looking for a dynamic person with at least 5 years professional experience to lead and support our marine survey operations.  The ideal candidate should be a pro-active, self-motivated individual, team player/leader, capable of working independently.  Someone looking to progress their career within this exciting and growing sector who possesses proven commercial experience.

We are looking for a dynamic person who will have:

  • A Degree or Masters in Science, Engineering
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in the marine survey sector or in engineering
  • High level of professionalism and good communications skills.
  • Experience with Oceanographic sensors (ADCP’s, Wave Sensors, CTD’s and Tide Gauges) & leading oceanographic surveys
  • Fluent in English

You main duties will be:

  • Responsible for leading Metocean engineers/scientists to ensure safe and successful deployment and delivery of our Marine Survey contracts.
  • Lead our ongoing and planned Marine Surveys, including mobilisation, deployment, ongoing maintenance and recovery of our Metocean Data Buoys and Seabed Frames. 
  • Manage the ongoing calibration and maintenance of our Metocean equipment pool, including Data Buoy Platforms and Maintenance of Seabed Frames.
  • Preparation of project documentation and field reports for our clients.
  • Manage onsite relationships with Clients representatives and sub-contractors
  • Work with the management team with regards to HSQE and continuous deployments.

Your skills/experience will include:

  • Experience with managing and delivering Metocean surveys to clients in Europe
  • Experience working in different sectors (Water, Coastal Engineering, Offshore Marine Renewables)
  • Knowledge of operating and troubleshooting Oceanographic equipment.
  • Working to firm deadlines whilst being flexible to schedule changes.
  • Strong organisational and IT Skills, including MS Office/Python
  • Ensure our survey activities adhere to the latest EU and industry standards
  • Full driver & powerboat license and suitable certifications for working on water.

The position is based out of our offices in Dun Laoghaire, and will involve travel primarily in Ireland and Europe.  We offer:

Metocean Engineer

TechWorks Marine has an immediate opening for a Metocean Engineer to join our team as we grow in the Marine Renewable sector in Europe.

We are looking for a dynamic person with at least 2-3 years professional experience in marine survey operations.  The ideal candidate should be pro-active, self-motivated individual, team player/leader, capable of working independently.  Someone looking to progress their career within this exciting and growing sector who possesses proven commercial experience.

We are looking for a dynamic person who will have:

  • A Degree in Science, Engineering (Electronics/Mechanical)
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in the marine survey sector or in engineering
  • Experience working at sea on boats (Multicats and small work boats)
  • Experience at preparing method statements for marine survey operations and risk assessments.
  • High level of professionalism and good communications skills.
  • Pro-active and flexible due to the nature of marine surveys.
  • Experience at using Oceanographic sensors (ADCP’s, Wave Sensors, CTD’s and Tide Gauges)
  • Good IT skills (MS Office)
  • Fluent in English
