WHAT WE CAN SEE IN OUR SEAS: Monitoring Ireland’s Marine Waters from Space

Tá an-áthas ar TechWorks Marine ár n-ábhar do Sheachtain Eolaíochta Taighde Éireann 2024 a chur i láthair. Is é téama na bliana seo ná Athbheochan, agus an chaoi a rachaidh cinntí a dhéanaimid inniu i gcion ar na glúine atá le teacht. Mar chuideachta mhara, táimid tiomanta ár dtuiscint ar thimpeallachtaí cósta, ghrinneall farraige, agus uisceacha na hÉireann a chur chun cinn – agus conas a d’fhéadaimis an t-eolas seo a úsáid chun ár gcríoch aigéin a chosaint agus a fheabhsú i bhfad amach anseo.

Cuirimid ár bpóstaer “AN MÉID GUR FÉIDIR LINN A FHEICEÁIL INÁR BHFARRAIGÍ” i láthair, léiriú ar ábaltachtaí shatailítí foinse oscailte fhaire cruinne na hEorpa in uiscí na hÉireann. Beidh cóip den phóstaer (A1) ar fáil do scoileanna go luath, agus beidh sé ar fáil i mBéarla agus as Gaeilge araon.

TechWorks Marine are delighted to present our contribution for the 2024 Research Ireland Science Week. This year’s theme is Regeneration, and how decisions we take today will impact future generations. As a marine company, we are dedicated to furthering our understanding of Ireland’s coastal, seabed, and aquatic environments – and how we might use this information to protect and enhance our ocean territory long into the future.

We present our “WHAT WE CAN SEE IN OUR SEAS” poster, a demonstration of the capabilities of Europe’s open source earth observation satellites in Irish waters. A copy of the poster (A1) will be made available to schools shortly, and will be available in both Irish and English. Additional details will follow. The poster is funded through the Marine Institute’s Marine Research Communication Awards (under the Marine Research Programme with the support of the Government of Ireland).
